-Illion Numbers


We're all familiar with numbers like million, billion, or trillion - but how far do the "illion" numbers go, the furthest Jonathan Bowers and I've seen in the literature is milli-millillion (10^3000003) which he calls a micrillion. Some time ago (about 15 years or so), being interested in giant numbers, he has invented names for illion numbers past a centillion (highest that me and Jonathan have seen in books at that time) - by continuing the trend: deci, centi, by using milli, micro, nano, pico, femto, and atto. Sometime later, he found out that he wasn't the only one to choose the name "millillion" for 10^3003 - He found this name mentioned on Robert Munafo's fascinating web site on large numbers. Following is a list of the "illion" numbers (those above millillion are names I invented), along with googol, googolplex, and googolduplex for size reference. The ones less than micrillion are shown on the above mentioned web site, naming rules up to the millillion range are mentioned in The Book of Numbers by Conway and Guy. He recently changed some of the numbers to match with the polytope suffixes. In 2022, due to the new prefixes ronna, ronto, quetta, and quecto, he changed a few illion names. In 2024, correction made for location of googoltriplex and bentrizillion as well as a note on the later, thanks to Sbiis Saibian. In 2025, I am Bella Tersumi, I found the numbers that were coined by Sbiis Saibian and other people's number site. I recently told Jonathan Bowers that due to the new suffixes above polymulton, polyprinson, polynoxon, and polyquoilon, I may have renamed 13 illion names and added 3 illion names, I got 16 illions mentioned in the polytope suffixes site. And I made a correction spelling for those two, doedecillion to duodecillion, and tridecillion to tredecillion. Jonathan Bowers might notice me about the correction spelling.

* - Number names denoted with an asterisk were mentioned to me, but I have no idea where they originated. They may been named according to the long scale illions (British version), so bentrizillion may end in 6*10^(6*10^12) instead of 6*10^(6*10^9), we can call the former 'long bentrizillion' and the later 'short bentrizillion'.
